What We Do

"Throughout the years being an active member of Jane Doe Inc. has given me the opportunity to participate in many activities to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as the opportunity to improve my professional skills attending trainings and webinars. The tremendous impact we make as part of the Jane Doe coalition is unmeasurable for every agency, advocate, client and community member." ~ Claudia Segura - JDI Coalition Member and Advocate

Sharing Our Expertise

Diana Mancera has been invited as a presenter with three of our national partners. As part of the Coalition Mentorship Webinar Series, she created a webinar called "A Movement Within the Movement. Diana provided this synopsis: "To root out gender-based violence, we need a movement against racism, biases, and oppressive practices within the anti-violence movement. Coming into this field, I was taught that sexual and domestic violence knows no class, race, or education level. Yes, that's true, but the systems and services set up for survivors do know class and race."

Diana was also invited to present an "Ignite Talk" at the national Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) convening.  "Community Organizing: Leading Together for Change" addressed the need to create prevention strategies that reflect the specific needs, assets, and priorities of a community and focuses on building relationships.  She will present a longer version of this talk as a workshop at the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence 17th annual conference.
